However, despite this abundance of natural resources, many young people in Colorado lack access to structured outdoor programs that can help them develop leadership skills and a deeper appreciation for nature. Our initiative focuses on training youth leaders in Colorado to facilitate outdoor recreational programs. By integrating leadership training with environmental education, we aim to promote personal development and leadership skills while addressing the need for well-structured outdoor activities.
Capacity Gaps in Colorado's Outdoor Sector Colorado's outdoor sector faces significant capacity gaps, particularly in terms of trained youth leaders who can facilitate outdoor programs. Many organizations in the state struggle to find qualified staff who can lead groups of young people in outdoor activities, particularly in rural areas where access to training and resources may be limited. Our initiative aims to address this challenge by providing funding to organizations that can deliver leadership training programs.
Readiness Requirements for Colorado Applicants To be considered for funding, applicants must demonstrate their readiness to deliver high-quality leadership training programs.
