Colorado's mountainous terrain and rural communities create unique challenges for mental health support services. With a significant portion of the state's population living in rural areas, access to mental health resources is limited, particularly for low-income students. The state's rural schools face workforce shortages, with some counties having only one school counselor per 1,000 students. Partnerships for Mental Health Support aim to address these gaps by establishing collaborations between schools and mental health organizations.
